The Honorable the Attorney General further states that he had spoken to Mr Price, pointing out to him that in view of the dates and documents which he has seen, it was clear that the report has been printed before the Executive Council meeting to which Mr Price alludes, and that in fact it was officially printed with other documents relating to tree planting in connection with a speech which the Governor was preparing for the State.
The Secretary of His Excellency The Governor mentions that he had appointed two Members of Council and Mr Justice Innes to go through all Mr Price's complaints and the various papers and dispatches on the subjects, giving them carte blanche to say what should be done, but that Mr Price declined such an enquiry.
The Honorable the Acting Colonial Secretary remarks that he spoke to Mr Price, putting it plainly to him and informing him that the documents had been sent to the printer long before the Council meeting to which Mr Price refers took place, but that Mr Price persisted in saying that he had appealed to the Secretary of State and would let the Secretary of State decide it.
